There are 5 main rules when it comes to playing Basketball.
1. The player must stay in the court also known as staying in bounds. If the offensive team loses control of the ball or lets it go out of bounce, then the opposing team gets control of the ball.
2. The player who has control of the ball must keep their hand on the ball at all times. They must keep dribbling/bouncing the ball while moving their feet.
3. The basketball player can only take 1 turn at dribbling. Once they stop moving their feet, they must stay where they stopped moving and must either pass the ball to their teammate or take a shot at throwing the ball into the hoop.
4. When throwing the ball, it can be thrown with one or both hands but never with a fist.
5. If a player goes into the court of the opposing team, the player may not pass the ball to another player of the same team that is still in the offensive team's court. The player with the ball may not go back to their own court.
